Wow! What a night at Fratelli
When i arrived at Fratelli the place was buzzing, Bruce (far right) urging me to set up and "start ASAP". So i did. Starting with some up-tempo stuff, John Paul Young's "Love is in the air" was a good start. Gary Barlow's "Let me go" proved to be a good second song and so it went from there. A wedding dedication was soon to follow along with a couple of lovely birthday requests. The staff always make a fuss for someone's birthday with a cake with sparkly candles. A nice touch. The Goodalls arrived shortly after so i sung some Frankie Laine songs...."Jezebel" and the classic "Rawhide" along with the Killer's "Human". With the World Cup only a couple of weeks away i thought i'd throw in Baldiel and Skinner's "Three Lions" (Jules Rimet still gleaming), Cristian Saba, 2nd from left almost joining in even though he supports Italy! He's looking forward to Saturday June 14th when the Azzuri take on En-ger-land in the heat and humidity of the Arena Amazonia, Manaus. Afterwards i threw in a Bobby Hebb song "Sonny" (Yesterday my life was filled with rain) which was great! I finished off the night with some musical stuff such as "Singing in the rain", "When youre smiling" and "There's no business like showbusiness" to name but a few followed by some Sinatra, "My Way", Dean Martin "That's Amore", plently Buble and some Matt Monro "Born Free", "From Russia with love" and at Jack's request "Softly as i leave you". With Carolanne's (far left) help i managed to get a copy of the above photo showing the four of us and a lovely backdrop of wine! I saw a couple of familiar faces in too. Good to see Alison Harland - an accomplished singer.
I stuck in some Beautiful South, Kenny Rogers, Olly Murs, Otis Reading, Smokey Robinson and loads more i can't even think of at the moment but i know i sang from 7pm through till well after 10 and you know what? This was one of my best nights. Till next time x
